How the Karma System works

Hi

I am just going to explain how the karma system works, for anyone who does not yet now...

Karma are reputation points, like on Howrse, but unlike Howrse, you are allowed to spend them.



How you can gain karma

Every 50 posts, you get 1 karma point
Every 20 days of registration, you get 1 point
Donating things may get you karma
Winning something in the forum (like a contest)



How you can lose karma

Spamming just to get more karma
Being rude or using inappropriate language
Cheating in a contest
Giving yourself karma when you have not earnt it

dressagemustang101 has the most right now. She has 5. Just go on the members list. The person with the most posts will have to most karma, and so on down the list xx

Charlotte,only moderators and administrators can give Karma (And by moderators I mean blue mods.So we dont have to worry about that

No, I meant thats how they can find out who has how much karma, not how to change it

Colored usernames? I thought your username onlygets colored if you have a place like moderator (blue), moderator (purple-red), admin, tech, and the other tech.

Yes,but you can even get like a rainbow.Like it goes from red to blue or something

I've been trying to contact dressagemustang101 (obviosly not on right now) asking what namesae apropriate for usergroups. I can't think right now. I was thinking "The Gods"

You can donate stuff by, Say if you were going to donate a horse on howrse, then you would sell it to dressagemustang on howrse! Easy!

My question is:
Do the mods award themselves karma? Because what if I just went and gave mself 10000000000 karma? I am able to, because it looks like I can change my own karma! So what happens with the mods karma? And I don't want to award it because I am scared I will award it/take it away for the wrong reasons! Help!

OK, I will answer all your questions:

kidgopher(1) - You need to contact dressagemustang101 if you would like to donate something. You must have the private sales on howrse. If you do, just reserve a horse or something for her, she'll buy it and then its donated!

In answer to iz' question, yes, mods award themselves karma. Please do not be afraid to award yourself karma, unless it is not earned. dm made us able to give people and ourselves karma for a reason, she trusts us. Of course, if someone did award themself that amount of karma, we would deduct all the karma, plus additional karma as a consequence, and they will certainly lose their job as a moderator. Just don't be afraid to give yourself karma if you have earnt it!
